"I have witnessed the growth and development of TJ publishers and am convinced that their creative work has had and is having a major impact on the mathematics curriculum in Scotland. The materials are now used used in all secondaries and many primaries in the authorities I have worked in. Of note is recent developments and TJ is supporting Curriculum For Excellence by producing detailed course planners diagnostic assessment materials. This is symptomatic of a company which is up to date with current and future developments. Above all TJ is appreciated by schools because the materials are comparatively inexpensive and very relevant to the needs of children and young people."

Ian Fraser – Ex Corporate Director of Education and Social Care

"We really like TJ Maths because of the clarity of the explanations in each new chapter and the assessment tool of Topic in a Nutshell to monitor progress. The pages are well laid out and the language is simple and appropriate."

"We have successfully used a range of TeeJay materials in Ardeer for some years and it was a relief to see on the website, as a download, the clear cross referencing of existing textbooks to the experiences and outcomes of Curriculum for Excellence - no need to start again with new materials and no further expenses incurred either! TeeJay always state that they produce teaching resources and and not courses – a validation of the approaches taken in school. The assessment materials are very useful in developing staff confidence in new assessment procedures. They can be used across the school and cluster group as a benchmarking tool as well as providing that vital written evidence for parents, carers and the Parent Council. Pupils themselves like to be involved in their next steps in learning and the materials allow pupils to set themselves targets in achievement and attainment. All of the materials are well written, well laid out, colourful and age and stage appropriate. I have no hesitation in recommending them to schools across Scotland in addressing the experiences and outcomes of Numeracy and Maths outlined in Curriculum for Excellence."

"In line with A.C.E. I use a very active methodology to teach children mathematics in my
classroom. However active your methodology is children still need to practise to develop
and master skills.

I use TeeJay photocopiable work sheets as part of my number activity time. I laminate
them and use white board pens to allow children to practise formation of numbers and
making and counting sets. A great consolidation tool!

Once I have taught numbers 0-5 I use TeeJay workbooks 0-5 as an assessment tool. The
children love their bright pages.

I am a teacher with 23 years teaching experience in Primary one. These are the best
workbooks I have ever used because their layout is very clear, with simple instructions.
They have very few words to read which really helps at the beginning of Primary one.
The children can focus on mathematical skills and not be confused by too much reading.
The completed workbooks give me a clear indication of the I can statement each child is
working towards (MNU-0-02a).

I can recognise, order and write numbers to 5.
I am consolidating recognition, ordering and formation of numbers to 5.
I am developing my skills working within 5.

I would highly recommend Teejay as a fantastic teaching resource."

"Having increasingly used TeeJay Maths resources for a number of years; extending the range of use from early years to the latter stages, Iʼm aware of the huge importance, both presentation of materials and concise worked examples, makes to learning and, if used as the basis for coursework (together with the vast bank of additional materials, from homework to consolidation and revision sheets), the difference it can make to the resulting qualification passes.

With pupils now choosing to extend their maths learning, I am similarly extending my resources with the Intermediate 2 materials. A dynamic resource, they serve as both a high quality provision of Curriculum for excellence materials, as well as a source of guidance regarding the most recent updates within the new curriculum. With all subject areas presented in an instructive and attractive style, pupilsʼ engagement with the text is notably improved, as is the positive impact on results."
